Charles Horse Outfitters was designed from a passion for humanitarian aid and disaster response. Simply put, we love people and we love helping people in need. But where did the name begin?
Charlie Company, 97th Civil Affairs Battalion used "Cobras" as their unit symbol. However, after the Commander of Charlie Company told the personnel in his unit they were a pain in the ass, the unit symbol quickly changed to "Charlie Horse".
"Charlie Horse" didn't sit well with senior leadership. It wasn't quite professional enough. So in the spirit of being a professional pain in the ass, Charlie needed to use his government name, and "Charles Horse" was born.
Our Mission is to create and provide opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities too get outside. Outfitting our community with quality outdoor gear and apparel is the mechanism to generate these opportunities, and foster their growth.
In John 13: 34-35, Jesus told his disciples to love one another just as he loves us. That message is our compass. Join us as we help those that might need an extra hand or two in order to enjoy the world God created. Let's Have An Adventure!
